I'm just like you…
You and I are the same-
Strong and Invincible / Insecure and Broken... Perfectly Unbalanced.

I celebrate Men and Women-
Every misunderstood word / Every intimate, perfectly connected moment.
I was born September 14, 1961. My early childhood was spent on a farm in a small mining/farming community in Colorado along with my older sister and two older brothers. My father was a farmer/coal miner. My mother was a farmer/secretary.
When I was born my mother was sure I was a boy so my name was to be Dennis (Denny)… to everyone’s surprise a girl emerged… and so I became Denette (Denny)… no wonder I’m my own opposite. I can go from working in the yard, mud up to my ears, to elegant in an evening gown in an instant… OK, about an hour. I’m definitely all girl, but with a touch of daredevil. I remember as a kid jumping off the railroad bridge into the Colorado River, swimming in the canal, climbing trees, and riding horses. But I also loved my dolls, and I loved to play dress up in my mom’s closet. In school, I loved to play various sports, and I was a cheerleader, a gymnast, and on the dance team. My true passion has always been writing and singing.
I’ve had those tough times, just like you, when I thought I’d drown / I’ve had those times when I followed my passion, took a risk, and walked on water… I’ve been knocked back down, gasping for air only to realize the lifeboat was always there if I needed it.
I was in the victim role for many years of my adult life, then realized I had the power the entire time to change my circumstances for the future…hmmmm, what a concept- just think- me, with all this power… and no longer does Daddy get to make me finish all my veggies before I get “Dessert”!
God Bless Daddy… He died at age 48.
